We realize we aren’t the only show in town when it comes to people riding the 508. Furnace Creek 508 Training Update
On July 13th of this year I ran the Badwater Ultra Marathon faster than I ever had before. This was a surprising result but one that I was really happy about. Once I realized that the race clock was not broken and that I did actually run sub 26 hours, I immediately realized that I had to take another shot at the Death Valley Cup record. I tried for the record two years ago but came up well short....

Adventure Corps Live Webcast
It looks like Adventure Corps have updated their webcast for the 2009 Furnace Creek 508. Obviously it isnt being updated until the race, but you can bookmark it to watch live results of the race, including time splits, photos and other race news. Blueridge this weekend
This weekend Charlie and Justin will be riding the famous Blueridge Parkway. They will be following this schedule:
200 miles day 1, 195 miles day 2 and 75 miles day 3
We are working on getting Charlie’s SPOT device working so we can all track their progress along the parkway. Charlie will be fine, it is Justin we all have to worry about :) He has been so busy getting everyone else trained...
What we are doing in preparation
In preparation for the race, there is obviously a lot going on. Charlie is riding, a lot, Justin is riding with Charlie, the rest of us are preparing mentally as well as some odds and ends. We are in the process now of trying to secure some amber flashing lights to put on the back of the truck. Speaking of truck, Charlie was able to secure us a 4 door truck to use as the crew vehicle. The purpose is simple, we want to track Charlie as he trains for and rides the Furnace Creek 508. We will be posting text, photo and video of Charlie as things progress. Keep posted…especially during the event.
